A Prayer for Wisdom to Change Direction

Lord,

Give me Wisdom not only to choose a path,  also to recognize when it is time to change direction.

Keep me from remaining somewhere simply because I have already invested time, effort, or emotion there.

If I have misunderstood the way forward, make me humble enough to receive correction.

If a plan needs to change, give me courage to change it.

If You are redirecting me, help me release what I expected so I can receive what You are teaching me now.

Do not let pride keep me walking in the wrong direction.

Surround me with wise counsel. Give me ears willing to listen and a heart willing to learn.

And when You show me a wiser way, give me the humility and courage to take it.

I trust You with the road behind me, the step beneath me, and the way ahead.
