A Prayer for Wisdom to Seek Godly Counsel

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You never intended for me to walk through life relying only on myself.

Give me wisdom to recognize the voices You have placed around me.

Surround me with people who are honest enough to tell me the truth, wise enough to offer sound counsel, and faithful enough to point me back to You.

Give me humility to listen.

Protect me from pride that refuses correction and impatience that makes decisions too quickly.

But Lord, also give me discernment.

Not every voice deserves influence.

Teach me to recognize counsel that is rooted in wisdom, integrity, experience, and Your truth.

Help me know when to speak, when to listen, when to seek advice, and when to wait for Your direction.

And make me the kind of person who can offer wise and gracious counsel to others.

May the plans I pursue be strengthened by wisdom and ultimately surrendered to You.
